Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham England

Recently I reconnected with Jenny Wicks, who came to visit us at the Winged Unicorn a few years ago, and who is manager of the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham. She kindly put aside a seat for me to the two latest productions, 'Present Laughter' by Noel Coward (with Robert Bathurst of 'Cold Feet' fame in the lead) and 'When Harry Met Sally'. 'Present Laughter' was just delightful and seems to have stood the test of time well.  The arrogance and petulance of an ageing actor... of course we don't know anyone like that but I'm sure they're out there!!! 'When Harry Met Sally' was a stage version of the film, of course, and I did feel that perhaps the company should have chosen something more up-to-date and relevant as it felt all a bit tired and 'overdone'.  And it was interesting to see that even professional actors have trouble keeping up American accents!!
